Flat fold diapers including Chinese pre-fold diapers can be fastened the old fashion way with pins or with a snappi, or can be folded and used as contour diapers.These need covers to be water proof or if fastened can be worn around the house without a cover.The draw back of this is they may not contain poop as well as a fitted depending on the baby’s age and what they are eating, but will contain poop better than a contour diaper.There are a few different ways to fold pre-fold diapers- Some like to fold them along the sides so the back is wide and the front is narrow, then lay baby on top and fold up between baby’s legs, then pull the front sides out and fasten around baby.Others like to spread out the diaper, lay baby on top and twist the diaper as they bring it up between the baby’s legs and then fold flat against baby’s tummy and fasten.I am sure you can find even more ways out there if you look or talk to other moms.Flat fold diapers like contours are a great way to cut back on costs and still have all the benefits of using cloth.You would want to have about 12 - 15 diapers with about 4 covers.
