Diaper covers can be used with fitted, contour and flat fold diapers to make those diapers water proof.The benefit is you can have many diapers and only a few covers since most covers can be laid out to dry in between diaper changes if they have not gotten poop on them.Urine is sterile and therefore your covers will not be germy if the baby has only peed.Usually you can rotate through about 5 covers throughout the day; this gives you enough if a few are in the wash from coming in contact with poop.Otherwise if baby has just peed change the diaper and hang up or lay out the cover to dry. By the next time baby needs a diaper change that cover should be dry and ready to go.This can save you a lot of money and works great for just being around the house.
