My boys legs seem to have grown and I am having trouble with redness on his thighs, I think due to rubbing, is there a different diaper that I should be using or is this just a phase? He is being changed frequently.

My daughter also has some chunky legs. We tried to do diapers combined with Babylegs and those made her feet turn purple. I would say a good stretchy combo for chunky legs would be nice. For example, a prefold with the stacinator wool cover? Or trying a fleece diaper cover?

That is a good suggestion. Also the wool stacinator cover might work nice too, I find I like it because I can have the waist nice and tight and I can snap out on the legs a little.
